Honeywell Successfully Enforces Non-Compete Agreement

Faegre Drinker secured a preliminary injunction preventing a senior executive of our client Honeywell from working for a direct competitor, Itron, Inc. After former Honeywell sales executive Benjamin Huggins joined competitor Itron as a sales leader in the same business area, Faegre Drinker sued on behalf of Honeywell to enforce Huggins’ non-compete agreement. After extensive expedited discovery, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey adopted Honeywell’s position – enjoining Huggins from working for Itron for the entire one-year restrictive period set forth in his employment agreement.
