Faegre Baker Daniels Admits 22 Associates and Counsel to Partnership

Faegre Baker Daniels is proud to announce that 22 former associates and counsel will be admitted to the firm’s partnership effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Boulder, Colo.

Brian Lefort is an intellectual property lawyer whose work encompasses patent prosecution and litigation, with a focus on developing and implementing comprehensive intellectual property strategies for companies in various industries, including medical device, software, telecommunications and aerospace. Brian is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School (J.D., cum laude, 1997) and the University of Massachusetts (B.S., magna cum laude, 1990).

Denver

Treasa Burke focuses her practice in real estate sales and acquisitions; leasing, housing and community development; and merger and acquisition support services in industries ranging from agriculture to health care to oil and gas. She graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law (J.D., 2005) and Colorado State University (B.S., 2002).

Indianapolis

Marcelo Copat practices in the firm’s intellectual property group, where he prepares and prosecutes U.S. and foreign patent applications, primarily in the electrical and software arts, for clients in the U.S., Denmark, Ireland, Israel and Spain. He is a graduate of Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law (J.D., cum laude, Order of the Barristers, 2007) and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (B.S., electrical engineering, 1984).

Jamie Drewry is a registered patent attorney in the firm’s intellectual property group. She focuses on preparation and prosecution of patent applications and strategic patent portfolio management. Drewry is a graduate of the Washington University School of Law (J.D., 2007) and Purdue University (B.S., with distinction, 2004).

Teresa Griffin is a member of the business litigation group. She focuses on family law, including high net worth dissolutions, relocation, custody and appellate actions. Griffin is a graduate of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law (J.D., summa cum laude, 2007) and DePauw University (B.A., magna cum laude, 2004).

Sarah Jenkins practices in the business litigation group, focusing on commercial, appellate and probate litigation. Jenkins is a graduate of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law (J.D., Order of the Coif, 2006) and Indiana University (B.A., 2003).

Amy Judge-Prein’s health care and FDA practice focuses on a broad range of regulatory and strategic matters relating to the development of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and diagnostics. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School (J.D., 1992) and Denison University (B.A., 1989).

Matt Levy is a member of the firm’s corporate group. He advises both public and private companies on cross-border transactions and international business issues. Levy is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School (J.D., 2006) and Middlebury College (B.A., 2000).

Harmony Mappes practices in the business litigation group, representing corporate, individual and governmental clients in state, federal and bankruptcy courts. Mappes is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law (J.D., with highest distinction, 2007) and Indiana University (B.S., with highest distinction, 2004).

Wendy Ponader, a member of the firm’s finance and restructuring group, has extensive experience representing clients in business, commercial and financial transactions, as well as in general business matters. She is a graduate of Indiana University Maurer School of Law (J.D., 1986) and Smith College (B.A., 1982).

Minneapolis

Joshua Colburn practices with the corporate group. He counsels clients in matters such as corporate governance, capital-raising transactions, executive compensation, securities compliance, and mergers and acquisitions. Colburn is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School (J.D., 2007) and the University of Minnesota (B.S., 2004).

Christa Head is a member of the firm’s intellectual property group whose practice includes U.S. and international patent preparation and prosecution, strategic patent portfolio management, patent infringement and validity investigations, and patent litigation. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law (J.D., with distinction, 2007) and Iowa State University (B.S., with distinction, 2003).

Megan Hladilek is a member of the benefits and executive compensation team where she counsels employers, fiduciaries and service providers in employee benefits matters and advises on design, governance and administration of retirement, welfare and executive employee benefit plans. She is a graduate of Hamline University School of Law (J.D., 2007) and St. Norbert College (B.A., 2003).

Erin Hoffman is a member of the firm’s business litigation group. She is a litigator and appellate lawyer who defends class and individual consumer claims, and has worked with many of the largest financial system institutions in the country. She is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University (J.D., magna cum laude, 2004) and Calvin College (B.A., National Merit Scholar, Pi Sigma Alpha, 1999).

David Jann, member of the construction and real estate litigation group, concentrates his practice on eminent domain and condemnation litigation and appellate proceedings, as well as property tax appeals. He is a graduate of William Mitchell College of Law (J.D., 1990) and Northern Illinois University (B.A., 1981).

Christine Kain is a member of the product liability group. She defends pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers and food industry clients in multidistrict and large-scale product liability litigation. Kain is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School (J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, 2007) and the University of Minnesota (B.A., summa cum laude, 2000).

Craig Komanecki is a member of the firm’s intellectual property group who focuses on IP and technology transactions, with particular emphases on biotech, health care and medical technology, food and agriculture, information technology and retail. Komanecki is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School (J.D., magna cum laude, 2007) and the University of Notre Dame (B.S., cum laude, 2001).

Jennifer Miernicki is part of the firm’s finance and restructuring practice group and represents commercial lenders in syndicated, club and single-bank transactions — and leverages market expertise to the advantage of corporate and tribal clients. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law (J.D., 2008) and Brown University (B.A., 2005).

Kate Razavi is a member of the firm’s intellectual property group who focuses on complex patent litigation in courts throughout the U.S. Kate is a graduate of University of Wisconsin Law School (J.D., cum laude, Order of the Coif, 2008) and Concordia College (B.A., summa cum laude, 2004).

Breia Schleuss is part of the firm’s finance and restructuring team and represents commercial and investment banks, other financial institutions and companies in connection with widely syndicated, club and single-bank loan transactions.
