Alice Morical Named a 2024 "Woman of Influence" by Indianapolis Business Journal
Business litigation partner Alice Morical was named a 2024 “Woman of Influence” by the Indianapolis Business Journal. The award recognizes women who have “risen to the highest levels of business, the arts, and community and public service in central Indiana.”
Morical is one of Indiana’s top trial court and appellate litigators and is renowned for navigating complex and high-stakes legal matters to get desired results for clients. She represents business clients in commercial litigation and noncompete and trade secret litigation, as well as professional service providers in significant state administrative proceedings. Morical takes a collaborative approach to her work and is a mentor to several up-and-coming women in central Indiana. She has also held many leadership positions in Indianapolis that have contributed to the quality of the legal community, including as a board member of Elements Financial and the steering committee of Indiana Women’s Empowerment Network.
In an Indianapolis Business Journal profile, Morical highlighted her proudest achievements in her legal career, including representing Dr. Caitlin Bernard, a physician who performed an abortion on a 10-year-old sexual assault victim, before the Indiana Medical Licensing Board. Morical provided legal advice and argued motions before the board to defend against the Indiana attorney general’s attempts to suspend Bernard’s license. Bernard was ultimately allowed to keep her physician’s license.
“Be confident in your skills and who you are,” Morical said when asked for advice for young women. “Work hard. Be open to opportunities. Surround yourself with smart, supportive, interesting people. And always maintain your sense of humor.”
