Faegre Drinker Adds Leading Corporate and M&A Partner Michael Baxter in Philadelphia
Faegre Drinker announced today that Michael (Mike) Baxter has joined the firm’s corporate group as a partner in the Philadelphia office. Baxter joins from an international law firm.
Baxter advises U.S. and global companies in a wide variety of business law matters, focusing on mergers and acquisitions. His experience extends across many sectors, including technology, manufacturing, health care, real estate, construction and industrial services, financial services, and insurance.
“Mike’s arrival strengthens our leading corporate and M&A team in Philadelphia, along with our nationwide capabilities serving public and private strategic clients, and private equity funds,” said John Marcil, leader of the firm’s corporate practice. “His sharp focus on middle-market transactions and experience advising clients across the financial services, health care, manufacturing, real estate and technology sectors make him a valuable addition to Faegre Drinker.”
From publicly and privately held Fortune 500 companies; to investment banks, funds and ESOPs; to businesses in emerging markets, Baxter has represented clients in mergers and acquisitions — including investments, divestitures, carve-outs, joint ventures, spin-offs and strategic alliances. Baxter also counsels clients on capital markets and securities — including public and private equity and debt offerings — and other matters related to the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
“Mike is yet another outstanding addition to our Philadelphia office, where we continue to add top-tier talent. He is an established dealmaker and his sophisticated practice fits squarely within our platform,” said Dan Aiken, Philadelphia office leader. “His enthusiasm, collaborative spirit and wide-ranging experience managing complex deals will benefit our clients in the Delaware Valley and around the world.”
Baxter earned his Bachelor of Arts from Villanova and his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Rutgers University School of Law, Newark.
