Minnesota Health Privacy Summit

Gina Kastel of Faegre Baker Daniels will speak at the Third Annual Minnesota Health Privacy Summit on Friday, December 6, 2013, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. The Summit will include a special keynote presentation on data de-identification, an expert panel discussion on personalized medicine and advanced breakout sessions addressing the most pressing privacy risk and compliance challenges facing health care organizations today.

Kastel will speak during the Privacy and Compliance Track on "Reporting PHI Breaches Under the New Omnibus and Obamacare Thresholds." In her presentation, Kastel will walk through common breach scenarios that were previously not reportable but now are and identify which controls have now become more important to implement. She will also discuss the legal implications of reporting erroneous breach information within the new 24-hour window.
