Science and the Law: Chemistry, Engineering and Intellectual Property

The Chemical Society of Washington (CSW) will host a virtual meeting on May 24 with a panel discussion featuring four Faegre Drinker Colleagues. The session, titled “Science and The Law: Chemistry, Engineering and Intellectual Property,” will be co-chaired by 2022 CSW President LaKesha Perry and Faegre Drinker Senior Director Lee Nagao.

During this one-hour session, Faegre Drinker Partner John G. Smith and Associates Cathering Morgan and Parker Brooks Hudson will discuss how they channeled their interest and degrees in science toward thriving careers in intellectual property law. In addition to describing their paths from science to the law, panelists will discuss the types of cases and challenges they address and how they are able to apply their scientific knowledge toward solving complex legal questions. The session will include an interactive Q&A/discussion.
