Jeff Blumberg spoke on “Internal and External Supervision: Oversight of Third-Party Service Providers and Employees” for large firms, joining a panel that included Josh Levit, chief compliance officer at Invesco; Erika Subieta, director and legal counsel at Charles Schwab; and Dianne Descoteaux, associate GC of the Investment Adviser Association.

Jeff and the panel discussed the latest best practices for initial and ongoing due diligence and monitoring of outsourcing to third-party service providers as well as oversight of supervised persons of the adviser. They also talked about the SEC’s proposed requirements for outsourcing “covered functions” to service providers.
