California Calling: New California Laws for 2024 and Beyond

Pascal Benyamini, Kristin Halsing and Daniel Prokott presented a CLE focused on new employment law in California. California Governor Gavin Newsom signed over 80 employment bills in 2023 in areas such as expanded paid sick leave, leave of absence for reproductive loss, prohibited discrimination based on cannabis use, minimum wage increases for fast-food restaurant employees and health care workers, and workplace violence prevention standards. The Faegre Drinker attorneys provided a summary of these new laws and addressed their practical implications.
