Brooke Dunn Speaks to Law360 Pulse About Return to Faegre Drinker
In “Hospital System CFO Returns to Faegre Drinker,” Law360 Pulse spoke with corporate counsel Brooke Dunn about her return to the firm in Indianapolis after most recently working as the chief financial officer and treasurer for hospital system Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County.
“I was very honored to work with [the hospital system], which is a mission-driven organization, and I’m thankful for that experience,” Dunn said. “I’m continuing to draw on that experience here at the firm and help clients who are mission-driven organizations. They are doing good work for communities across the world, so it’s my goal to continue to help them do what they have been formed to do and to continue to do more good work across our country, because it’s needed in the country and internationally.”
Dunn explained, “Faegre Drinker is an exceptional firm that provides transactional, litigation and regulatory and government advocacy services to organizations. So I have a broad team that can assist clients with those issues as well.”
Dunn noted how her previous experience will benefit clients of the firm. “In addition to having legal experience, I also have that business and finance experience, so I'm thinking about things from both lenses as I am assisting clients on various issues," Dunn said.
“[The hospital system's] budget was $2.1 billion so it's a large and complex organization, and most of the clients who I'm dealing with now have complex issues as well. I think I bring a lot of different types of experiences in addition to legal acumen that allows me to provide better service to our clients.”
Dunn also said she thinks there is a growing demand from nonprofits, which are facing inflation and other economic challenges as well as still coping with how to run their organizations in the most productive way after the COVID-19 pandemic impacted their operations.
