Lynne Anderson Discusses DEI Hiring Policies With P&C Specialist
In light of the Supreme Court affirmative action decision on college admissions, labor and employment partner Lynne Anderson spoke to P&C Specialist about what companies need to know regarding corporate diversity, equity and inclusion policies in hiring.
“There are some initiatives that may be red herrings for legal challenges and, if so, that can actually derail the initiatives you value,” said Anderson. “You need to be inclusive in how you go about it.”
Quotas should be avoided, as should programs focused solely on minorities, even if the goal is helping these employees get ahead through training or apprenticeship programs, Anderson added.
