IndyBar’s Bill Watch Report – Informing Members on Vital Legislative Developments
In the Indiana Lawyer article, “IndyBar’s Bill Watch Report – Informing Members on Vital Legislative Developments,” government and regulatory attorney Lacey Berkshire discussed the Indianapolis Bar Association’s “Bill Watch Report” tool that can help legal professionals stay engaged with legislative updates that impact the practice of law.
During this year’s legislative session, Hoosier lawmakers introduced 1,250 measures that IndyBar’s Public Advocacy Committee reviewed for the reporting tool, tagging relevant bills to specific practice groups. Through the tool, attorneys can stay updated on bills affecting land use, family law, criminal justice, and taxation that can all impact their legal practice. The tool monitors legislation in real-time, giving attorneys the ability to track bills, amendments, and more. This collaborative resource, Berkshire noted, ensures attorneys are better positioned to engage with lawmakers to express concerns and advocate for more sound public policy.
“IndyBar’s Bill Watch Report is an indispensable resource for legal professionals in central Indiana. It provides a systematic and efficient way to track legislative developments, promotes proactive engagement with lawmakers, and helps attorneys navigate the ever-changing landscape of state laws,” Berkshire said. “By offering members access to timely and relevant information, IndyBar ensures that the legal community remains well-informed and is able to advocate effectively on behalf of their clients and the profession at large.”
