Avery Brooks Bennett

Overview

Avery Bennett counsels corporate clients in employment litigation, including actions under Title VII and the Minnesota Human Rights Act. 

He researches and analyzes legal issues and formulates strategies. Avery also drafts pleadings, motions, proposed orders and briefs. In addition, he advises clients on legal compliance with employment practices.

Prior Experience

Avery joined Faegre Drinker from a global labor and employment firm. Following law school, he clerked for Justice G. Barry Anderson and Justice Gordon L. Moore at the Minnesota Supreme Court. During law school, he was an extern for the Hon. David R. Stras on the Eighth Circuit and head managing editor of the Minnesota Law Review. Following his undergraduate education, Avery was a Fulbright Fellow through the U.S. Department of State and the Icelandic Ministry of Education and Culture, studying at the University of Iceland. He was also an eighth- and ninth-grade science teacher in Sweden.

Personal Interests

In his free time, Avery enjoys playing piano, leatherwork, sailing and exploring new languages.
