Anthem, Inc. Acquires Amerigroup Corporation

Anthem, Inc. completed a $4.9 billion acquisition of Amerigroup Corporation. The deal was, at the time, one of the largest-ever all cash deals in the health insurance sector. Through the deal, Anthem became the largest private manager of Medicaid benefits in the U.S., with a Medicaid presence in 19 states. Our firm served as lead regulatory counsel for Anthem.
