Baker & Daniels Receiving IBA Pro Bono Award

The Indianapolis Bar Association will present its 2007 Pro Bono Law Firm Award to Baker & Daniels LLP at a luncheon on November 29, 2007.

Baker & Daniels is being recognized by the IBA for its strong commitment to pro bono work and for its 25 to 30 ongoing initiatives and projects offering pro bono and public service opportunities to its employees. Organizations benefiting from Baker & Daniels pro bono initiatives include the Protective Order Pro Bono Project, Child Advocates, GLBT Organizational and Individual Advocacy, Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities, the Creative Artist Legal League, and many more.

The firm's pro bono committee, chaired by partner Carl Pebworth, is composed of more than 40 attorneys from various practice group areas and office locations. The committee focuses on the development of public service opportunities, project coordination, and overseeing funding requests for pro bono initiatives and activities.

"Our firm has a long-standing institutional commitment to public service and organizations working on issues relating to access to justice," said Pebworth. "We hope that attorneys and staff will do pro bono and volunteer work throughout their time at the firm, and we are honored that the IBA is recognizing the firm for commitment to pro bono work."
