Living and Working in Chicago
In Chicago, our professionals and clients enjoy a city that epitomizes Midwestern metropolis living. Nicknamed the "Windy City" and recognized as the third-largest city in the U.S., Chicago offers a little something for everyone. You can enjoy a summer's day along the nearly 29 miles of lakefront parks and beaches or take in a view from the observation decks of some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world. Shop 'til you drop on the city's famous "Magnificent Mile," or experience one of the greatest orchestras in the world by visiting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra located on Michigan Avenue. The Art Institute, also located on Michigan Avenue, is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the United States. And for the sports buffs — home to five top professional teams, Chicago is every super-fan's dream city.
Community Involvement
Our Chicago team of attorneys and staff colleagues have a history of supporting many community organizations with their time and resources. We support nonprofit legal aid grants and various educational programs, as well as organizations that advocate for the continual improvement and advancement of Chicago’s residents.
Some recent community efforts include:
Investing in Justice
Our Chicago team participates annually in the Chicago Bar Foundation’s (CBF) annual Investing in Justice Campaign, which raises money for grants to legal aid nonprofits to ensure that people in the community who are most in need have access to critical legal assistance.
Working in the Schools
Working in the Schools (WITS) is a nonprofit organization that promotes literacy by connecting Chicago Public School students with volunteers for stories and activities. WITS brings the students to our Chicago location, where they are paired with volunteer mentors who read with the students and assist them with their homework.
Jeans for a Cause
Our Chicago team holds a jeans day every Friday where participants donate $5 to be distributed to the charity of the year. Past beneficiaries include Children’s Oncology Services, Inc., Westside Cultural Foundation and the Off the Street Club — Chicago’s oldest boys and girls club.
