Baker & Daniels Welcomes 10 New Partners

Baker & Daniels LLP has announced the addition of 10 new partners, effective January 1, 2008. At the firm's annual fall meeting, the partnership voted to admit the following new partners:

  • Trevor J. Belden, a member of the health and life sciences group who practices from the firm's north side Indianapolis office. Belden, who joined the firm in 2000, received his bachelor's degree with highest distinction from Purdue University and J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
  • Thomas R. Biehl Jr., who practices in the labor and employment group from Baker & Daniels' Fort Wayne office. Biehl, a member of the firm since 2003, received his bachelor's degree from Ohio State University and J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law. Prior to joining Baker & Daniels, he worked as in-house counsel for a large manufacturing corporation.
  • James S. Birge, a member of the firm's emerging companies and private capital groups who practices out of Baker & Daniels' north side Indianapolis office. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree from Harvard University and went on to receive his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. Birge returned to Baker & Daniels in 2004 after serving as Deputy Chief of Staff to Indiana Governor Joe Kernan.
  • Adam F. Cox, who practices from the firm's Fort Wayne office as a member of the intellectual property group. He received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Miami University and graduated magna cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis before joining Baker & Daniels in 1999.
  • Scott J. Fandre, who practices in Baker & Daniels' construction, environmental and real property liability group from the South Bend office. Fandre, who joined the firm in 2005, received his bachelor's degree from Bradley University and J.D. from the Northern Illinois University School of Law. He worked as vice president and assistant general counsel for a large title insurance company in Chicago before joining Baker & Daniels.
  • Peter J. Gillin, a member of the firm's corporate finance group who practices from the South Bend office. Gillin, who joined Baker & Daniels in 2003, received his bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and J.D. cum laude from the Boston College Law School.
  • Jason D. Kimpel, who practices from Baker & Daniels' downtown Indianapolis office as a member of the insurance and financial services practice group. A member of the firm since 1999, Kimpel received his bachelor's degree magna cum laude from DePauw University and J.D. magna cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington.
  • Kathy L. Osborn, a member of Baker & Daniels' business litigation group who practices from the downtown Indianapolis office. Osborn, who joined the firm in 2000, graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in religious studies and magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biology from Indiana University. She then received her J.D. magna cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington with a minor in gender studies. Before becoming a lawyer, Osborn worked 11 years for Indiana University's Institute for Disability and Community.
  • Scott E. Peck, who practices in the public finance group from Baker & Daniels' downtown Indianapolis office. Peck, a member of the firm since 1999, received two bachelor's degrees from Indiana University before graduating with his J.D. magna cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington.
  • Bing Wang, a member of Baker & Daniels' international group who practices from the firm's Beijing office. Wang received both his bachelor's degree and LL.M. from Beijing University. He then earned a master's degree in legal history from the University of Connecticut and graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law. Prior to joining Baker & Daniels in 2006, Wang served as vice president and legal counsel for three Hong Kong corporations investing in China.
