Faegre Baker Daniels Welcomes 25 New Associates in Seven Practices

Twenty-five new lawyers have joined Faegre Baker Daniels LLP as associates in seven practice areas, including business litigation, corporate, health and life sciences, insurance, intellectual property, labor and employment, and product liability and environmental.

Associates are joining six of the firm's U.S. offices. Two will practice from the Denver office, one from Des Moines, two from Fort Wayne, five from downtown Indianapolis, two from 96th Street Indianapolis and 13 from Minneapolis.

All of the new attorneys have professional experience as law clerks, summer associates or legal interns, or in previous non-legal careers. The new associate lawyers are:

Laura N. Arneson practices intellectual property law from the Minneapolis office, focusing on patent litigation and other intellectual property disputes. She earned her law degree magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2011 and a Ph.D. in immunology from Mayo Graduate School in 2007. Before attending law school, Arneson served as a post-doctoral fellow at the Mayo Clinic Office of Intellectual Property, studying natural killer cells and cell signaling. She earned a bachelor's degree summa cum laude from St. Olaf College in 2001.

Elsa Bullard is a business litigator in Minneapolis. Before joining the firm, she was a law clerk for Judge Joan Ericksen in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. She served two years as a research assistant at her law school and was also a summer associate at Faegre Baker Daniels and a volunteer intern with The Advocate for Human Rights. Bullard earned a law degree magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2011 and a bachelor's degree as a distinguished graduate from the U.S. Military Academy in 2000. She served in the U.S. Army from 2000-07, first supervising a platoon in Germany and then as a company commander in South Korea.

Joshua T. Busch is a member of the firm's product liability litigation group in Fort Wayne, where he defends, resolves, prevents and manages product liability issues and litigation. While in law school, he was a legal intern with the Medical Protective Company. Busch earned a law degree magna cum laude from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2012 and a bachelor's degree summa cum laude in economics and English literature from DePauw University in 2009.

Saulo I. Delgado practices labor and employment law from the firm's downtown Indianapolis office. During law school, he served as an intern with the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, an extern with the National Collegiate Athletic Association and a law clerk for the Indiana Court of Appeals under Judge Cale J. Bradford. He received Faegre Baker Daniels' diversity scholarship in 2011. Delgado earned his law degree from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in 2012 and a bachelor's degree in political science from Indiana University South Bend in 2007.

Linzey A. Erickson is a member of the firm's intellectual property group focusing on patent litigation from the Minneapolis office. She received a law degree from Drake University Law School in 2012 and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Minnesota in 2008. During law school, Erickson was a legal intern researching trademarks for a national media and marketing company and a chemist for a global paint manufacturer. While in college, she worked as a research assistant studying computational chemistry and conducting geological simulations.

Katie A. Feiereisel is a member of the firm's intellectual property group, focusing on copyright and trademark counseling and litigation from the firm's Denver office. During law school, Feiereisel was a litigation intern with a New York City firm. She earned her law degree from Columbia Law School in 2012, where she was a Legal Practice Workshop teaching fellow. Prior to law school, Feiereisel spent two years as a literary agent, representing non-fiction authors in all stages of the publishing process. She received a bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Duke University in 2007.

Peter R. Goldstone, a business litigator in Minneapolis, was a law clerk in the Massachusetts Court of Appeals for Judge David Mills before joining Faegre Baker Daniels. During law school, he was an extern associate with the Securities and Exchange Commission's Boston Regional Office and a summer associate with a Boston firm. Before his legal career, Goldstone was a visiting college faculty member and university researcher in international relations and national security policy at institutions including MIT, Harvard, Georgetown University and the RAND Corporation. He received his law degree magna cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 2011 and a bachelor's degree with highest honors from the University of Chicago in 1991.

Daniel A. Graham practices business litigation, handling a variety of commercial litigation matters from the Denver office. During law school, he interned in the office of the Colorado Attorney General and with the Securities and Exchange Commission in Denver. Graham earned his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2012, where he graduated first in his class and served on the Denver University Law Review. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Montana in 2007.

Brian E. Jacobson practices corporate law in Minneapolis. Before joining Faegre Baker Daniels, he was a law clerk at a Minneapolis law firm. Jacobson received a law degree magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2012 and a bachelor's degree summa cum laude from St. Olaf College in 2007. Jacobson's experience also includes serving as a legislative monitor for the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy and a volunteer law clerk in El Paso, Texas, researching economic justice and labor legal issues relevant to the Latino immigrant population.

Lariss Jude practices product liability and environmental litigation from the Minneapolis office. She formerly served as a law clerk both at litigation law firms and in-house, and as a judicial extern and research assistant. Jude earned a law degree magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2012, including spending a semester at ESADE Law School in Barcelona, Spain. Prior to law school, Jude was a legislative intern for MANA – A National Latina Organization in Washington, D.C. She received her bachelor's degree in 2009 from Smith College.

Laura B. Latham practices corporate law in the Des Moines office. She received her law degree with highest distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2012, where she graduated first in her class. During law school, she served as a judicial extern to Judge David Danilson and Judge Edward Mansfield at the Iowa Court of Appeals. She earned a bachelor's degree with highest distinction in finance from the University of Iowa in 2009, where she also graduated first in her class.

Courtney A. Lawrence is a product liability litigator who worked as a summer associate for an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial and industrial products and services during law school. She also gained experience as a law/business extern and corporate pro bono intern for law firms and as a certified student attorney for the Hennepin County Attorney's Office. Lawrence received her law degree summa cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law in 2012 and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Minnesota in 2008. She practices from Faegre Baker Daniels' Minneapolis office.

Colton D. Long is a member of the firm's business litigation group focusing on complex litigation from the Minneapolis office. During law school, he was a judicial intern for Judge John Jarvey of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa and Judge Matthew Johnson, now chief judge of the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Long earned his law degree with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law and a bachelor's degree cum laude in political science and communication studies from Luther College in 2009.

Peter C. Magnuson practices business litigation from the Minneapolis office. Before joining the firm, he clerked for Judge James Loken of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He also served as a judicial intern to Judge Patrick Schiltz of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Magnuson earned his law degree magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2011 and a bachelor's degree with high distinction from Duke University in 2007, where he received the Henry Schuman Prize in Music.

David R. Merritt is a member of the firm's intellectual property group, handling complex IP litigation and transactions. While in law school, he was a law clerk for an international software company and helped lead a number of student run organizations at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 2012. Merritt earned his bachelor's degree cum laude in political science and communications in 2009 from Bethel University. He has joined the firm's Minneapolis office.

Katelyn M. Miner, a member of the firm's insurance team in downtown Indianapolis, interned with Wishard Health Services in Indianapolis during law school. She earned her law degree cum laude from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2012 and a bachelor's degree with highest distinction from Indiana University in 2008. During college, Miner interned in Washington, D.C., with Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana. Prior to attending law school, she was a volunteer English teacher for Christel House Mexico in Mexico City.

Donald E. Morgan is a member of the firm's business litigation group in downtown Indianapolis. A former law clerk at Faegre Baker Daniels, he served as a judicial extern for Judge John T. Noonan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco, Calif., and for Judge Saundra Brown Armstrong of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in Oakland, Calif. Morgan received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 2012 and a bachelor's degree with highest distinction in history and political science from Indiana University in 2009.

Trenton B. Morton focuses on intellectual property law from the firm's Fort Wayne office. He received his law degree from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2012 and a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering from Purdue University in 2009. While in law school, Morton was an intern with the City of Indianapolis' Office of Corporate Counsel. During college he interned at Honeywell's Metropolis Works nuclear conversion facility and assisted with nuclear materials research at Purdue's Birck Nanotechnology Center.

Daniel E. Pulliam practices in the business litigation group in downtown Indianapolis. Prior to joining the firm, he was a law clerk to Judge John Daniel Tinder of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. During law school, Pulliam was a judicial intern for Judge William T. Lawrence of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. He received a law degree magna cum laude from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in 2010 and a bachelor's degree cum laude in journalism from Butler University in 2004. Before attending law school, Pulliam was a journalist with Government Executive magazine and a contributor to the religion-news blog GetReligion hosted by the Oxford Center for Religion & Public Life.

Nick R. Rotchadl practice business litigation in Minneapolis. While in law school, he was a student attorney for the Environmental Law Clinic and National Wildlife Federation's Great Lakes Regional Center and for nonprofit and small business clients of the Urban Communities Clinic. He was also a legal intern at the D.C. Department of Small & Local Business Development. Rotchadl earned a law degree cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2012 and bachelor's degrees in political science as well as journalism and mass communication from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2006. Before law school, he spent three years as deputy communications director for Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold of Wisconsin.

Jason Schnabel practices in the firm's health and life sciences group, focusing on clinical research and regulatory compliance matters from the firm's 96th Street Indianapolis office. Before entering the legal profession, he worked as a petroleum engineer with Schlumberger Oilfield Services, including spending time in Russia, and as an application and sales engineer for Virgina Transformer Corp. Schnabel received a law degree magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2012 and a bachelor's degree in materials science and engineering from North Carolina State University in 2004.

Mark L. Shope practices corporate law, with a focus on international matters, from the firm's downtown Indianapolis office. He previously clerked with Faegre Baker Daniels and for Judge Melissa S. May in the Indiana Court of Appeals, and he interned with the Centre for Civil and Political Rights in Geneva, Switzerland. Shope earned a J.D. from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in 2012 and an LL.M from the National Taiwan University College of Law in 2009. Before entering law school, Shope was a musician, serving as the timpanist for the Shanghai Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra. He holds master's (2004) and bachelor's (1999) degrees in music from Carnegie Mellon University.

Sudeep Simkhada practices corporate law from the firm's Minneapolis office. He received a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law in 2012 and a master's degree in philosophy from Texas Tech University in 2009. He earned his bachelor's degree summa cum laude from Dickinson State University in 2006. During law school, Simkhada was a summer intern in the housing practice at the East Bay Community Law Center in Berkeley and volunteered at Berkeley's California Asylum Representation Clinic. He also attended the SEC's Law Student Observer Program in Washington, D.C.

R. Patrick Thornberry practices corporate law from the firm's 96th Street Indianapolis office, focusing on business formation and mergers and acquisitions. In addition to serving as a law clerk with the firm, he also worked as a legal intern with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation during law school. Thornberry earned his law degree summa cum laude from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2012 – graduating first in his class – and a bachelor's degree with highest distinction from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2009.

Bob Xiong is a corporate lawyer, practicing from the firm's Minneapolis office. While earning his law degree cum laude from the University of Minnesota School of Law in 2012, Xiong was a member of the school's Business Law Clinic, representing local clients with new entity formation, document drafting and business agreements. Before law school, he was a regulatory accountant for Target Corporation, working on financial reporting related to Target National Bank, and a senior auditor at Ernst & Young LLP. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Minnesota in 2005.
