Jeffrey A. Peck, 65; Accomplished Litigator
Jeffrey A. Peck, a partner in Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP’s Florham Park, N.J. office, died November 30 after a battle with cancer. He was 65. An accomplished and highly respected litigator, Peck built an enviable practice focused on cases involving pharmaceutical and medical device products liability, toxic torts and professional liability.
Peck joined the New Jersey firm of Shanley & Fisher in 1971 following a clerkship in the Chancery Division of the New Jersey Superior Court. He ascended to partnership of that firm in 1978 and joined Drinker Biddle when the firms merged in 1999. The Trial Attorneys of New Jersey bestowed its prestigious trial bar award for distinguished service in the cause of justice in 2006.
He was a certified trial attorney and served as the president of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey and chairman of its Board of Trustees. A member of several bar associations, he was a Master of the Worrall F. Mountain Inn of Court. Peck also was elected trustee of the Morris County Bar Association, and was appointed to serve an eight-year term on its Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee. He was a member of the Supreme Court District X Ethics Committees for Morris County and served as its chairman.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University, and his law degree from George Washington University School of Law.
Peck is survived by his wife, Joanna, his children, Jacqueline, Jennifer, Cullen and Todd, and six grandchildren, Lindsey, Dhani, Dylan, Alex, Marisa and Marley.
