Faegre Baker Daniels Receives Colorado Corporate Community Award

Faegre Baker Daniels LLP has been awarded the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association's Outstanding Corporate Community Award.

The firm was recognized for pro bono representation provided to the organization by Gina Rodriguez and her team of John Shively, Tom Carroll and Darla Pearsall in congressional redistricting litigation.

The Mexican American Legal Defense Education Fund partnered with Faegre Baker Daniels to intervene in pending litigation over redistricting, in an effort to advocate for creation of congressional districts that offer Latinos fair electoral opportunities.

"This lawsuit was important to preserve the historically underrepresented Latino communities of interest, and to prevent dilution of Latino voting strength statewide," said Rodriguez. "Although the judge ultimately chose the redistricting map proposed by another party, our efforts focused public attention on the issue of fair electoral representation of the state's Latino communities."

Faegre Baker Daniels has a long-standing commitment to pro bono service. The firm's pro bono practice is centered on a shared vision of service to the community, which includes the dedication of firm resources to support individual lawyers pursuing their own passion for specific areas of pro bono practice.
