Indianapolis Bar Association Names Denise Bowlby Paralegal of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS (May 16, 2013) —Denise Bowlby, a family law paralegal with Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, was named Paralegal of the Year by the Indianapolis Bar Association (IndyBar) on May 16, 2013.

Paralegal of the Year recognizes one outstanding paralegal for his or her contribution to the legal community. This honor is given to a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and is earned by making exceptional contributions to the legal field, being active in the community and being well-respected overall.

With more than 25 years of paralegal experience, Bowlby has a long list of career, association and community accomplishments, including:

  • Authoring several articles in Legal Assistant Today magazine
  • Charter membership with the IndyBar Paralegal Committee
  • Teaching and developing paralegal courses for Marian University
  • Membership with the Marian University Paralegal Studies Program Academic
    Development and Advisory Board.

In nominating her for the award, Drew Soshnick, a partner and member of FaegreBD's executive committee, said, "Denise has made exceptional contributions to the legal profession by her fortitude to ensure her clients are taken care of and that she understands how to effectively respond to their needs. She produces highly efficient and sound work for clients."

Beyond her career, Denise has also given back to her community through involvement with groups including Sheltering Wings, a domestic abuse shelter for women and children.
