LawWorks Names Pop-up Advice Clinic Best Pro Bono Partnership
Press Release
The Dalston Pop-up Advice Clinic, a partnership between Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, BPP Law School and Hackney Community Law Centre (HCLC), was named the Best Pro Bono Partnership at the LawWorks Pro Bono Awards 2013.
The clinic was established as a pilot in 2012 in response to an increase in demand for advice at HCLC. The pilot was so successful that it has become an integrated, permanent establishment which now includes a form-filling clinic. This is the second formal recognition the clinic has received this year, having received the "Pro Bono Team of the Year" honor at the Halsbury Legal Awards in May 2013.
LawWorks is England's leading pro bono charity for solicitors, in-house counsel, mediators and students. Hundreds of voluntary organisations and tens of thousands of individuals benefit from the support of 25,000 lawyers every year. The LawWorks Pro Bono Awards celebrate the best legal pro bono activities undertaken by organisations and individuals and the positive impact they had on those helped.
