United Way of Central Indiana Recognizes FaegreBD for Community Spirit

On June 4, Faegre Baker Daniels was honored with a 2014 Spirit United award from United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI) in recognition of the firm's exemplary support of UWCI's mission.

UWCI noted that over the past three years, FaegreBD's United Way giving has increased significantly over the national average for law firms and FaegreBD has sponsored various United Way events. FaegreBD employees are engaged in telling the United Way story and give time to United Way affinity groups as board and committee members.

Recipients were chosen by a volunteer task force of prior winners. To be eligible, a company must have won United Way's Company That Cares award for the past three years, provided financial support and resources above and beyond a successful workplace campaign, and engaged significant volunteer support for the United Way's mission.

The Spirit United award winners "set the bar high for how to LIVE UNITED by giving, advocating and volunteering to improve our community," said United Way's President and CEO Ann D. Murtlow.

Faegre Baker Daniels is deeply committed to the communities where its personnel live and work. The firm connects to the community by providing pro bono legal services to persons on limited means, volunteering in ways that build and strengthen the community and providing financial support to charitable and cultural organizations.

Tom Froehle, FaegreBD's chief operating partner, accepted the Spirit United award at UWCI's annual meeting celebration on June 4. Also honored were August Mack Environmental, Covance and Dow AgroSciences.

United Way of Central Indiana helps people learn more, earn more and lead safe and healthy lives. United Way gets things done by mobilizing people and community partners in six Central Indiana counties to identify, advance and advocate the best solutions.
