Christopher Berendt, environment and energy partner in Washington, D.C., was quoted in a Bloomberg BNA Law article, “Microgrid Industry Seeks Regulations in Order to Grow” discussing industry and regulatory limitations on the expansion of microgrid systems. The article notes the unique benefits of microgrids, “mini energy systems” that can power individual buildings and structures independently of the local utility system.
Christopher expands upon the benefits of microgrids, noting their agility and availability in the case of emergencies.
