Jessica Benson Cox Named to Indianapolis Business Journal's ‘Forty Under 40'
Faegre Baker Daniels partner Jessica Benson Cox has been named to Indianapolis Business Journal’s (IBJ) 2018 “Forty Under 40” list for accomplishments in her practice and the community.
IBJ’s “Forty Under 40” recognizes local business and professional leaders who have achieved success and excelled in their field before the age of 40. Each year, the publication selects recipients who demonstrate leadership, initiative and dedication in pursuing their careers, and who are likely to continue to achieve in the future.
In her practice at FaegreBD, Cox defends pharmaceutical companies and device manufacturers – balancing complex tort cases with pro bono work and community service board involvement. She told IBJ, “My job is to learn the medicine and the science and then figure out how to explain them to a jury, some of whom may not have finished high school. If I can learn it, I feel that anybody can learn it.”
In addition to her accomplishments in her practice, Cox has been involved in Dress for Success. She also sat on the board of Indiana’s chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and more recently, has focused on helping the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research, which works toward a cure for the serious genetic disorder that her own son was diagnosed with shortly after birth.
