Joan Akalaonu Joins Faegre Baker Daniels in Chicago

Joan Akalaonu has joined Faegre Baker Daniels as part of the business litigation group at the firm’s Chicago office.

Akalaonu counsels clients through all steps of complex commercial litigation. She also advises clients through government and internal investigation matters.

Before joining FaegreBD, Akalaonu was an associate at Skadden, Arps Slate, Meagher & Flom, where she represented and advised clients in various commercial litigation matters, investigations and enforcement actions brought by government agencies, and internal investigations involving complaints of employee misconduct.

Akalaonu earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and she graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
