New Hires Boost Federal Regulatory, Policy and Program Expertise for Health & Life Sciences Team in Washington, D.C.

Faegre Baker Daniels’ health and life sciences team has enhanced its established presence advising the sector on federal regulatory, policy and program matters. David Ault has joined as counsel with Faegre Baker Daniels, and Faegre Baker Daniels Consulting has added Jeffrey Ekoma and Vincent Giglierano as advisors in Washington, D.C.

Ault joins after eight years in key positions at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). He has served in HHS as director of the Division of Financial Risk in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and, before that, as a litigator in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Division of the HHS Office of General Counsel. His recent CMMI work involved leading several advanced payment model initiatives at the core of moving Medicare from fee-for-service to value-based strategies. Ault’s experience here and as agency counsel on numerous Affordable Care Act (ACA) cases will strengthen the firm’s compliance and strategic development services. Ault earned a law degree at Wake Forest University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree with high honors from Middlebury College.

Ekoma comes to FaegreBD Consulting from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), where he served as associate director of policy and professional affairs. In this role, he led the AACP lobbying initiatives with Congress and federal agencies. Ekoma also developed and implemented the organization’s grassroots advocacy program. He will help serve the firm’s clients in health policy and legislative goals. He earned a master’s degree in health science from Towson University and a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

A former legislative assistant for Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI), Giglierano brings policy and quantitative analytics expertise to FaegreBD Consulting. As a legislative assistant, Giglierano specialized in matters related to tax, health care and economics. He also served as staff liaison to the House Budget Committee, Joint Economic Committee, and Committee on Education and Labor. His work will focus on policy and regulatory needs for integrated health clients. Giglierano earned a bachelor’s degree with a Dean’s Scholarship from Augustana College.
