Corporate and Securities Partner James Fitzsimmons Joins Drinker Biddle in New Jersey

Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP today announced that James F. Fitzsimmons has joined the firm’s Florham Park, New Jersey, office as a partner in the Corporate and Securities Group. Fitzsimmons comes to the firm from Budd Larner P.C.

Fitzsimmons advises private equity firms in connection with minority and majority investments, mature companies and their owners in connection with acquisitions and dispositions, emerging growth and growth companies in connection with formation, capital raising activities and outside general counsel support and ultra-high net-worth families with their investment activities.

Fitzsimmons’ work encompasses a broad range of industries, including financial technology, financial services, consumer finance, cosmetics, health care, media, technology and traditional industries.

Before entering private practice, Fitzsimmons served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard Newman, J.A.D. in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. He earned his Juris Doctor from Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law, where he was editor in chief of the Dickinson Journal of Environmental Law & Policy, and his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from St. Lawrence University.
