Drinker Biddle Earns Top Rankings in Legal 500

The 2019 edition of The Legal 500 recommends Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP’s Investment Management Group and Intellectual Property practice in four categories, with three attorneys being recognized as “Leading Lawyers” or “Next Generation Lawyers.” Partner Michael P. Malloy was honored with inclusion in The Legal 500 Hall of Fame, which highlights partners who continually provide clients with excellent service and who are at the pinnacle of their profession.

Drinker Biddle is recommended under Investment Fund Formation and Management in the following categories: Alternative/Hedge Funds and Mutual/Registered/Exchange-Traded Funds. Partners Joshua B. Deringer and Michael P. Malloy were named “Leading Lawyers,” while partner Jillian L. Bosmann was ranked as one of The Legal 500’s “Next Generation Lawyers” under the Mutual/Registered/Exchange-Traded Funds category.

In addition to being named one of this year’s “Leading Lawyers,” Michael P. Malloy was included in The Legal 500 Hall of Fame. The criteria for entry is to have been recognized by The Legal 500 as one of the elite leading lawyers for six consecutive years.

Under Intellectual Property, the firm was recommended in the Trade Secrets and Trademarks categories. A respondent said that partner Lora A. Brzezynski, who leads the firm’s Trade Secrets team, is “able to put things in non-legal terms to ensure clients fully grasp the legal concepts.” Another person noted how the firm is “excellent” at “managing worldwide trademark portfolios.” Additionally, Melissa Dillenbeck was referred to as “excellent” counsel and one that “provides creative solutions” on trademark matters.

The Legal 500 is based on feedback from 300,000 in-house peers and the independent assessment of law firm deals and confidential matters. It highlights law firms and attorneys who provide innovative legal advice to business clients, based on feedback from clients as well as its independent assessment of law firm deals and confidential matters.
