In Memoriam: Patrick Scognamiglio

Our Senior Attorney, Patrick J. Scognamiglio, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the age of 77.

Patrick joined Drinker Biddle in 2012 after retiring as a partner from LeBoef, Lamb, Leiby and MacRae, and was a valued member of the Insurance Coverage group in our New York office. He was an expert in the regulation and licensing of insurance companies, advising companies, insurers and re-insurers in the United States, U.K., Europe, Bermuda and Australia on complex issues for more than 40 years.

Born in New York, Patrick resided in Woodbridge, New Jersey, since 1988. He was a graduate of St. John’s University and New York Law School.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Wendy Kortrey; children Jennifer, James, Patrick, David, Daniel and Michael; and grandchildren Joseph, Kiera, Margaret, Ben, Tyler, Carly and Hannah.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street (at Barron Avenue), Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (giving.mskcc.org) in Patrick’s memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
