Justin Kay Named among Crain’s 2019 Notable Gen X Leaders in Law

Chicago partner and Class Actions Team vice chair Justin Kay is noted among this year’s “Notable Gen X Leaders in Law,” published by Crain’s Chicago Business. The list recognizes attorneys who are members of Generation X and who have become leaders in the legal profession.

As noted in his profile, Justin has served as the leader of Drinker Biddle’s hiring committee for the last two years, during which time he has helped implement a slew of new initiatives. He also led the introduction of an internship program designed to better prepare students of diverse backgrounds for law firm work.

Justin defends complex civil matters in federal court, state court, and before federal agencies, and counsels clients regarding strategies for minimizing risks associated with such lawsuits. He focuses on privacy-related class actions and regulations, including laws regarding biometric and geolocation information. Justin writes, speaks and serves as a resource for journalists reporting on these topics, and has appeared on broadcast radio and television news programs. Justin’s work has garnered him recognition throughout the legal and business communities: Law Bulletin Media selected him for their 2018 “40 Under Forty” list, and 2018 marked the second consecutive year Benchmark Litigation included him on their “Under 40 Hot List.”
