Working Mother Honors Faegre Baker Daniels as one of the "Best Law Firms for Women"

Working Mother has named Faegre Baker Daniels one of the 2019 Best Law Firms for Women – a list that recognizes 60 U.S. firms for using best practices in retaining women attorneys, advancing them into leadership roles and implementing work-life balance initiatives.

FaegreBD strives to promote gender equality within the firm through its processes, policies, practices and programming. The firm is honored to be placed in the new Working Mother Best Law Firms for Women Hall of Fame which recognizes law firms that have been on the Working Mother Best Law Firms for Women list for 10 years or more.

Working Mother highlighted the firm’s customized data-analytics project to improve diversity and inclusion initiatives. Data on gender was presented to firm leadership and all women partners and was a primary component of strategic planning for the firm’s D&I efforts.

“It’s heartening to see the progress women lawyers are making at firms committed to fully utilizing these attorneys’ abilities,” said Meredith Bodgas, editor-in-chief of Working Mother. “The war for talent is increasing incentives for law firms to invest in retaining women lawyers, which is why we’re seeing more women’s initiatives and parental-support groups. By highlighting what our top firms are doing, we hope others in the legal community will follow.”

In addition to the 2019 Working Mother recognition, FaegreBD was among 45 U.S. law firms to receive 2019 Gold Standard Certification by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum, and was named as the fourth best law firm from women in Law360’s 2019 “Glass Ceiling Report.”

The firm has also adopted innovative programs dedicated to the retention and advancement of women and diverse professionals, including the Mansfield Rule, which ensures consideration pools for select leadership and governance roles are represented by women lawyers and lawyers of color; and “On Track for Partnership”— a team-driven and technology-supported sponsorship initiative designed to accelerate professional growth, promote career advancement, and unlock leadership opportunities for women lawyers and lawyers of color.
