Kelly Fermoyle Returns to FaegreBD’s IP Group

Kelly Fermoyle has rejoined Faegre Baker Daniels as an associate in the intellectual property group. He practices from the firm’s Minneapolis office.

A registered patent attorney, Fermoyle partners with clients to litigate patent cases and other complex business matters in all phases of litigation, including jury trials and appeals.

Fermoyle rejoined FaegreBD after clerking for Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Cowan Wright of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Fermoyle broke into law with a clerkship at a boutique intellectual property firm in Minneapolis and an externship with Chief Judge John R. Tunheim of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Before commencing his legal career, Fermoyle worked as a firmware engineer for Seagate Technology, the world’s second-largest manufacturer of hard drives, and as an intern for Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, N.M.

Fermoyle earned his J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he was the executive editor of the Cybaris L.P. Law Review and editor of the Mitchell Hamline Law Review. Fermoyle earned his M.S. in computer science and engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He earned a B.A. in computer science from Saint John’s University.
