Antonio Pozos Named a ‘Rising Star’ by Law360

Faegre Drinker partner Antonio Pozos has been named a 2021 “Rising Star” in the White Collar category by Law360. The annual list recognizes attorneys under the age of 40 whose legal accomplishments transcend their age. Pozos was selected from a field of more than 1,400 applicants and named to the winners’ list of 180 attorneys, hailing from more than 80 law firms and spanning 38 practice areas.

Pozos was recognized by Law360 for his work on several high-profile white collar matters, both as a former Department of Justice prosecutor and in private practice at Faegre Drinker. In an interview with the publication, Pozos discussed his career highlights to date, how diversity and his cultural background have helped his practice, and details on his proudest moment as an attorney.

He also shared his reflections on how he’s made a successful career as a white collar attorney, telling Law360 that “being an effective advocate requires not just strong investigative skills but also a high degree of social intelligence and a range of experience to understand the personal motivations of the players.” Pozos added, “I think that’s true in both the individual context and the corporate context. At the end of the day, it’s about people.”

Pozos is a leader in legal education, an active community member and a highly decorated professional. He draws on his experience as a former federal prosecutor with the Criminal Fraud Section of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to advocate for clients in criminal litigation, government investigations and related civil proceedings.

Clients rely on his meticulous, aggressive defense strategies when facing criminal charges, government investigations and civil enforcement actions by the DOJ, Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Bureau of Investigations, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General, Drug Enforcement Administration and other federal law enforcement agencies, as well as state authorities.

Beyond his high-profile private practice work, Pozos is a member of the Advisory Board of the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law and a lecturer in law at the University of Pennsylvania Carey School of Law. He also co-hosted a series of “Tertulia” events with the National Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Latino leaders in Washington, D.C.
