Pat Hughes Honored by Chicago Debates as ‘Make Room for Debate’ Honoree
Chicago partner Pat Hughes has been recognized by Chicago Debates as a “Make Room for Debate” honoree, a recognition honoring the organization’s 25 most influential people in their 25-year history. Previously serving as board chair and director for eight years, Hughes is celebrated for his commitment to the organization and its mission for many years. His dedication to the organization stems from his experience at Loyola Academy, an experience he believes should be available to all students.
Chicago Debates’ mission is to advance the educational achievement, community contributions and life success of Chicago’s youth throughout the transformative power of academic debate. This year, the organization is celebrating 25 years of bridging the educational opportunity gap for Chicago Public School students.
Hughes’ dedication to the Chicago community extends beyond his work with the firm. He uses his professional knowledge to help others through pro bono work, such as representing an abuse victim in child support collection efforts and securing political asylum for a family of four from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Hughes is a member of several professional organizations and serves in many leadership roles extending beyond member in many. His dedication to the Chicago community goes above and beyond, which adds to his position as a strong advisor.
Hughes will be recognized at the Chicago Debates 25th anniversary gala on Oct. 27, 2022.
