Brad Campbell Receives Inaugural PLANADVISER Vision Award

PLANADVISER Magazine has recognized benefits and executive compensation partner Brad Campbell as a recipient of their inaugural PLANADVISER Vision Awards. The Vision Awards aim to celebrate industry leaders who have propelled positive change and contributed to positive retirement outcomes for the U.S. workforce. Campbell was one of just two recipients.

The publication highlighted the key role Campbell played in the creation of the Pension Protection Act (PPA) and other significant ERISA retirement and health reforms and how his regulatory and policy decisions have had a fundamental impact on the structure and operation of ERISA plans.

During his time serving as the assistant secretary of labor for employee benefits, Campbell led the effort to draft and issue the final regulations establishing the qualified default investment alternative and enrollment safe harbor framework that continues to facilitate automatic enrollment and the use of pre-diversified investments in defined contribution plans. He also helped orchestrate the implementation of the PPA’s sweeping changes to pension regulations, issuing nearly 30 regulations and major guidance documents.

As a partner in the firm’s D.C. office, Campbell continues to exercise his policy vision in the service of retirement plan clients and other ERISA fiduciaries as they work to operate compliant and effective retirement plans.
