Cheryl Orr Named a 2023 ‘Top Labor & Employment Lawyer’ by Daily Journal

International labor and employment practice group and San Francisco office leader Cheryl Orr has been selected by Daily Journal as one of the “Top Labor & Employment Lawyers” for 2023. The list recognizes California’s top attorneys who have made significant contributions to labor and employment law. This is the ninth time that Cheryl has been included on this list of leading attorneys.

In a feature profile, the Daily Journal highlighted Cheryl’s practice that focuses on defending clients in class, collective and Private Attorneys General Act actions and in complex single-plaintiff cases as they head to trial.

Regarding the firm’s labor and employment practice, Cheryl said, “Our traditional labor practice is busy as union organizing activity has risen and we have collective bargaining to do.” She added, “With our immigration team, there's high demand for us to get visas for clients, plus we have an active pro bono practice in the asylum area.”

Cheryl also noted that the firm’s counseling, transactions and training team is “busy as corporate deal making is on the upsurge again and due diligence and compliance are essential.” She continued, “And in my area, wage and hour, that's always busy in California.”

In conclusion, Cheryl stated, “We’re always looking for the silver bullet. Sometimes, good old-fashioned negotiation is the key.”
