Joseph Smith and Pablo Svirsky Selected as 2023 ‘Diversity in Law’ Honorees by Indiana Lawyer
Joseph Smith and Pablo Svirsky have been selected as inaugural honorees of Indiana Lawyer’s 2023 “Diversity in Law” program. This new program recognizes attorneys and judges from across Indiana and across practice types who have contributed to efforts to diversify the state’s legal profession through mentorship, law firm committees, bar association initiatives, educational programs and more.
Smith, a partner in the firm’s government and regulatory practice, was recognized for his ongoing efforts to create a more diverse and inclusive law firm and legal community. In addition to his practice, he is an important player in Indiana’s government with success in the public and private sectors. Smith serves on Faegre Drinker’s board and is also active on the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, where he is a part of conversations and education in addressing unconscious or innate biases. Svirsky, a partner in the firm’s corporate practice, is highly involved in Faegre Drinker’s growth and commitment to building a diverse and inclusive firm that reflects those communities and our clients. In addition to his practice, he dedicates significant time to hiring and retaining diverse talent. Svirsky serves as the partner chair of the firm’s Diversity Collective, as well as a member of the firm’s National Hiring Committee and chair of the Indianapolis Hiring Committee. Honorees will be recognized at Indiana Lawyer’s inaugural “Diversity in Law” awards breakfast at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis on Oct. 5, 2023. At the event, Indiana Lawyer will select one of the honorees to receive the Diversity Trailblazer Award, honoring an attorney or judge who has excelled in their commitment to diversity in the legal profession and who has inspired others to do the same.
