Faegre Drinker Consulting Strengthens Minnesota State Government Affairs Team

Faegre Drinker is pleased to announce that Molly Sigel has joined the firm as senior director with Faegre Drinker Consulting in Minneapolis. She’s the second hire to the team in the past 3 months. The Minnesota state government affairs team also recently welcomed manager Megan Hennen in October 2023.

The Minnesota state government affairs team has strong roots in Minneapolis, dating back to the early 1980’s. The team represents clients in front of the state legislature and state government agencies, county boards, city councils, and other regional and local bodies. The team of both attorneys and consulting professionals provides clients with a full spectrum of lobbying services, including developing legislative strategies, drafting legislation and amendments, recruiting bill authors, attending committee hearings, and monitoring legislative developments on our clients’ behalf.

Sigel provides government relations services to clients at the Minnesota State Legislature, state administrative agencies and local units of government. She has more than 20 years of experience representing Fortune 500 companies, professional associations, tribal governments and health care organizations. Sigel relies on extensive experience and keen instincts to help clients navigate the ever-changing political landscape in Minnesota and is recognized for her integrity, work ethic and proven track record of success.

“We are thrilled to welcome Molly and Megan to the team,” said Dave Johnson, Minnesota state government affairs team leader. “Their extensive experience and backgrounds in Minnesota politics enable them to excel at effective and efficient advocacy. They set our team up to be an exceptional partner to companies and organizations across Minnesota looking to advance their state government affairs policy goals.”

Sigel was previously the legislative affairs director at the Minneapolis office of a national law firm. She also served as an advisor to Governor Tim Pawlenty and was a Commissioner of the Metropolitan Airports Commission from 2005-11.

Hennen advocates for clients before the Minnesota Legislature, state agencies and local units of government, leveraging her legislative experience and relationships to help them achieve their public policy goals. She spent a combined six years serving the Minnesota Senate and House of Representatives as a committee administrator and legislative assistant. During that time, she worked in a range of policy areas, including environment and sustainability, mining and forestry, retail and commerce and higher education. Hennen was also previously the State Government Relations Director at the American Heart Association, and she currently serves on the Board of the Minnesota Governmental Relations Council.
