Faegre Drinker Grows in Los Angeles With Class Actions and Commercial Litigator Josh Anderson
Faegre Drinker announced today that Josh Anderson has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as partner and leader of the West Coast class actions team for the business litigation group. Anderson joins from a national law firm where he was a commercial litigator for nearly 25 years.
Anderson has deep experience in resolving disputes in the insurance, financial services, life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors. He has developed a reputation for consummately handling the defense of class actions and complex, multiparty litigation in federal and state trial courts and on appeal.
“Josh has an extensive litigation background, and his robust skill set is a great addition to our team,” said litigation group leader Debbie Ellingboe. “His experience in financial services litigation, including complex California state law regulatory actions, and litigation in the pharmaceutical industry will benefit many clients.”
In his practice, Anderson represents insurers and financial service companies in all types of class and individual actions, including alleged instances of breach of agreements and fiduciary duties, miscalculation of benefits, unlawful sales practices, and deceptive marketing. He also represents pharmaceutical and life sciences companies in nationwide and statewide class actions, as well as mass tort product liability cases.
Dedicated to his pro bono work, Anderson was a leader of the team that obtained a groundbreaking decision on behalf of Detroit public school students, which marked the first time a court (the Sixth Circuit) held that there is a fundamental federal right of access to literacy.
“We’re excited to welcome Josh to our L.A. office,” said Los Angeles office leader Pascal Benyamini. “Josh is bringing an enthusiasm for excellent client service and a highly esteemed practice that will add more strength to our litigation services.”
Anderson earned his B.A. from the University of Chicago and his J.D. from UCLA School of Law.
With its team of litigators, including nine Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers, former United States Supreme Court clerks, members of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, former federal prosecutors and government agency officials, Faegre Drinker’s litigation group is equipped to provide comprehensive on-the-ground litigation support wherever disputes involving clients may arise.
