Faegre Drinker Welcomes Leading Labor and Employment Litigator Joseph O’Keefe as Partner in New York
Faegre Drinker announced today that Joseph (Joe) O’Keefe has joined Faegre Drinker’s labor and employment group as a partner in the New York City office. O’Keefe joins from an international law firm where he was co-head of the restrictive covenants, trade secrets and unfair competition group.
With more than 30 years of experience, O’Keefe is a first-chair trial lawyer who represents employers in complex and multifaceted disputes — including class actions and multidistrict litigations. His mission is to deliver responsive and effective representation, customized to meet the unique needs of each client.
“Having Joe join our office is an exciting addition to the labor and employment practice here,” said Laura Appleby, New York City office leader. “His breadth of skill sets will serve our clients well in New York and globally.”
In addition to his litigation skills, O’Keefe provides strategic and practical counsel to employers on a wide range of matters, including the evolving landscape of law and regulation applicable to non-compete agreements and the integration of artificial intelligence in the workplace, the emerging AI regulatory framework, and employers’ related risk management and legal issues.
“Joe’s employment litigation background is extensive and impressive,” said Cheryl Orr, labor and employment group leader. “His knowledge of emerging AI regulations and risk management frameworks for employers will be a great asset as this area continues to evolve and impact employers.”
O’Keefe earned his B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross and his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.
