We provide a supportive work environment, programs and resources to help balance work and personal goals, leading technology tools and applications, and a high-performance, client service-focused culture where paraprofessionals can thrive.
Who We’re Seeking
We seek people who deliver superior client service, are highly organized and take initiative. Successful paraprofessionals are resourceful, knowledgeable in legal processes, independent workers, persuasive communicators and model positivity. We seek high-performance driven individuals who enjoy working with professionals at the top of their fields.
Rewards
We offer competitive pay and reward performance through our annual evaluation and compensation programs. Paraprofessionals are eligible for bonuses based on annual billable hours and value-added firm investment time.
A Community-Based Culture
We believe in giving back to our communities and credit up to 75 billable hours per year for each paraprofessional to devote to pro bono activities.Career Development
New Hire Orientation
We provide information, tools and support to every new paraprofessional as they integrate into Faegre Drinker. A structured orientation sets the course for success and spans many topics, including practice-specific training.
Mentor and Advisor Program
New hires are partnered with a paraprofessional mentor who helps design the orientation plan to set these new colleagues up for success and integrate them into practice groups. Additionally, each paraprofessional has an attorney advisor to provide guidance with workflow and professional development.
Setting Up a Successful Career
We invest in paraprofessionals’ careers with a career model that defines key competencies demonstrated by successful Faegre Drinker paralegals and recognizes the importance of billable work, value-added firm investment time and demonstration of the firm’s core values. The career model sets performance expectations, provides opportunities for growth and development, and provides a path for progression. We provide in-house and external opportunities to further develop skills.
Feedback
Within the first year, paraprofessionals receive a mid-cycle evaluation completed by their attorney advisor. This evaluation provides opportunity to recognize strong early performance and clarify questions.
Each paraprofessional is evaluated annually, receiving feedback from those they work with frequently and their attorney advisor, with a path to a senior-level position, if desired.
