Inside Blackhorse v. Pro-Football, Inc.: A View into the Ongoing Conflict between Federal Trademark Law and the Washington Redskins

Washington, D.C., associate Tore DeBella recently attended and spoke at a Louisiana State University (LSU) program titled, “By Any Other’s Name: A Conference on Law, Authorship and Appropriation” on October 28 and 29.

The conference, put together by LSU’s School of Theatre, College of Music & Dramatic Arts, Law Center, and Office of Research & Economic Development, in tandem with the Law and Humanities Institute and the Arts, Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association, brought together artists and attorneys to look at issues of law and authorship, as well as challenges that arise when artists engage in appropriation of other works.

Tore attended and spoke on the Blackhorse vs. Pro-Football Inc. trademark case in a session titled, “Inside Blackhorse v. Pro-Football, Inc.: A View into the Ongoing Conflict between Federal Trademark Law and the Washington Redskins.”
