Overview
The Faegre Drinker immigration and global mobility team will discuss hot topics in U.S. and global immigration from the start of the COVID-19 crisis until now. From White House proclamations to policy updates from around the world, U.S. immigration and global mobility is constantly changing. Topics that will be covered in this presentation are H-1B updates, including the selection of new H-1B cap cases in mid-August; continued changes with the public charge rule with court challenges and decisions; PERM labor certification updates; USCIS processing delays, and more. The team will cover the multiple travel bans implemented with the pandemic, including newly released guidelines for the national interest exceptions, consulate closures and the impact on worldwide travel. This discussion will also include a review of new post-Brexit U.K. immigration rules effective January 2021 and other short-term global options for remote workers.
