A Conversation on Race and Insurance

We held a conversation on race and insurance featuring Connecticut Insurance Commissioner and NAIC Secretary-Treasurer Andrew Mais and Wisconsin Insurance Commissioner Mark Afable. Commissioner Mais co-chairs the NAIC workstream examining practices or barriers in the insurance sector that may disadvantage people of color and historically underrepresented groups with respect to property and casualty insurance. Commissioner Afable co-chairs the NAIC workstream examining similar practices or barriers with respect to life insurance and annuities. We’re looking forward to hearing their preliminary thoughts and impressions, as well as their goals for this nationally important initiative.
