FDLI’s Legal and Practical Issues in Cannabis Regulation Conference

Webinar

Overview

Libby Baney is moderating a panel on “Federal Legislative Opportunities for Improved Cannabis Regulation” for the Food and Drug Law Institute. The panel includes Thomas Berry, senior VP of regulatory compliance at Greenleaf Health; Andrew Freedman, senior VP of Forbes Tate Partners and executive director at Coalition for Cannabis Policy, Education, and Regulation; and Jensen Jose, regulatory counsel at the Center for Science in the Public Interest.

Congress is deliberating the provisions of the 2023 Farm Bill, cannabis-specific legislation has been introduced in the House of Representatives, and the FDA has requested additional legislation to create a new pathway to market for cannabidiol (CBD) products. This session addresses: opportunities under the Farm Bill to strengthen federal cannabis regulation; cannabis-related bills currently before Congress and their likelihood of success; and what additional legislation is needed for a well-regulated adult-use cannabis market.
