Trump 2.0: Trade Policy Review, Outlooks, and Mitigating Risk

Partner Ross Johnson and associates Matt Scott and Matthew Kinsman led a presentation for the Agricultural Retailers Association entitled, "Trump 2.0: Trade Policy Review, Outlooks, and Mitigating Risk." The presentation covered the recent changes and implications of U.S. trade policy under President Trump and key legislative acts such as the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 and the Trade Act of 1974.

They also discussed how agricultural retailers need to adapt their supply chains to face these dynamic trade policies and mitigate the impact of tariffs by lobbying governmental officials and renegotiating contract terms such as price escalation and force majeure.
