10 Key Trade Secret Developments of 2015: Part 1

Four Faegre Baker Daniels attorneys—partners Randy Kahnke and Kerry Bundy and associates Tyler Young and Peter Magnuson—are co-authoring a two-part Law360 piece highlighting the year’s biggest developments in trade secret law. The first part, published on Dec. 16, evaluated five trends and their potential trade secret implications in the U.S. and abroad.

“In part 1 of this two-part series,” the article said, “we highlight five trends in particular: (1) increased cooperation between the United States and China on cyberattacks; (2) the continued circuit split regarding the scope of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act; (3) heightened scrutiny applied to unsupported trade secret suits; (4) the Trans-Pacific Partnership’s potential effect on the protection of trade secrets around the world; and (5) the increasing prevalence of threats to confidential information in every field and industry, even America’s 'national pastime.'”

The second part will be published in January.
