Elsa Bullard and Kate Middleton Speak to Minnesota Lawyer About Recently Launched AI-X Team

In the article “Faegre Drinker partners help lead ʻAI-X team,’” the Minnesota Lawyer spoke with Minneapolis partners Elsa Bullard and Kate Middleton about their roles in co-leading sectors of the firm’s newly launched artificial intelligence and algorithmic decision-making (AI-X) team.

Middleton is co-leading the health and life sciences sector and Bullard is co-leading the autonomous vehicles (AV) sector.

Middleton highlighted that “the formalization of the AI practice puts the exclamation point on Faegre Drinker’s dedication to supporting innovation and innovation by our clients.”

Bullard shared that the AV team appreciates working with the broader AI-X team because of all the different industries in which members of the team are working, and how that offers different perspectives on similar issues.

Middleton also noted how the firm’s data scientists help demystify the technology for clients who are already using it or those who want to develop and put it to use. “Our added superpower is our scientists,” said Middleton. “We are able to bring both our legal and technical knowledge to guide clients in their journey with their technologies. From inception all the way to market, including if it’s a device, and then of course in the event litigation arises around any of these technologies, we bring that expertise as well.”
