Sara Manske and John Mulhern Co-Author Chapter in Second Edition of Research Handbook on International Insurance Law and Regulation

Insurance partner Sara Manske and counsel John Mulhern co-authored a chapter in the Research Handbook on International Insurance Law and Regulation’s second edition, titled “USA: A Regulatory Overview of the World’s Largest Insurance Market.” In the chapter, the authors provide a brief overview of the legal landscape that produced the current U.S. system of supervision, along with a description of the financial and market conduct oversight to which insurers and intermediaries are subject. They also provide an extended discussion of the differences between operating in the U.S. on an “admitted” versus “non-admitted” basis, closing with an exposition on reinsuring risks in the U.S.
