Minnesota Lawyer Highlights Steve Lokensgard in ‘Breaking the Ice’ Profile

In a Q&A profile titled “Breaking the Ice: Partner leads Faegre Drinker’s health care practice,” partner Steve Lokensgard spoke to Minnesota Lawyer about his new role as Faegre Drinker’s health care practice group leader.

Lokensgard emphasized his work in Medicare billing compliance and focus on expanding the practice and strengthening client service. When asked the best part of his work, he said, “In health care, every day is a new issue, a new problem, a new riddle to solve.”

Lokensgard added, “The most challenging aspect of health care regulatory work is the lack of a clear answer and the need to make judgment calls frequently.” He also noted, “We talk about these crazy laws that pretty much only somebody in the health care industry has heard about — the Stark law, the anti-markup rule, the three-day payment window — that are unique to Medicare billing compliance.”
